For obvious reasons, the early seasons of The Simpsons are the golden ones and the most beloved by everyone, but that doesn't mean the newer and more recent seasons aren't well-received and watched by millions of people. So, what kind of person are you? The one who prefers the old Simpsons or the current ones?
I definitely prefer the older ones. I honestly haven't watched the newer ones, the last episode I remember watching was from the late 00's or early 10's so they're old at this point. (But I know you mean when the show first aired.) I used to watch The Simpsons reruns on FX when I was a teenager in the mid 00's. I watched it here and there when I was younger too.
I suppose I would say older Simpsons, considering I don't watch the show anymore. It's not that I don't like it, but more like I'm attached to my computer and iPhone screen, doing other things than watching TV.
Old Simpsons, no contest. The early seasons had sharper writing, stronger satire, and tighter character humor. The newer episodes still have moments, but they don’t hit with the same consistency or cultural bite.
Honestly, I haven’t really watched many episodes overall, but the ones I have seen are mostly the older Simpsons. From what I’ve watched, the classic seasons just seem funnier and more memorable, so those are the ones I’m more familiar with. I haven’t really kept up with the newer episodes enough to compare properly.
