Old Work: Image in the Text

Hey this is my work of summer 2011 but I've forgot how to do it in GIMP now, anyone know any tutorials:

It does need fixing but my new version will be different image and text as this was for a fan forum.

Once you figure out your text, right click on your text layer and select "Alpha to Selection." I'm pretty sure you can then bring your image into the selection. I'm a GIMP user, but I hardly ever do anything like that.

I really like that effect but it makes the text somewhat hard to read.
