I think it would be a good idea if teachers and schools can broadcast school lectures for students who are too sick or poor(3rd-world countries with no decent schools) to attend school, or they got snowed in, and can't attend school because of poor weather. The teacher can just use her webcam to lecture the students online, so they don't fall behind in their school work, and if the student does not understand the lecture, he can just go on Skype and talk to the teacher.
Some Universities like Yale, and Harvard offer online lectures for free to anyone to listen into, so even if you are too poor to attend college, you can learn from free college lectures.
Plus, making lectures available for download would be cool, so they can take notes afterwards since I used to have teachers which talked super fast or erased the chalkboard too fast that it was impossible to take decent notes in many case.
The problems with broadcasting lectures are privacy, and it might encourage some student to be truant, and stay home and not attend class because they are lazy.
