I opened up my site and it has around 185 total guests viewing my community, anyway I checked it at and turns out it's the same IP address. Weird? What do you guys thing?

That is very odd. I have noticed that certain search crawlers tend to create many, many instances at one time. That could be the culprit! :3

Alright, It has gone up to 258 now..

If it gets up much higher, you may want to block that IP.

This. 😛

If too many people are viewing your forum (ie. a number in the 100's), someone might be attempting to DDoS you. You might want to consider researching the IP, then blocking it if it doesn't look like a real person.

I can't find that IP anymore, I have about 50 guests viewing with all different IPs so that's an good sign

That's good. Maybe your site is getting some traffic from somewhere. :3

Yeah! but no one is joining 🙁

Sometimes it's hard for newer forums to attract members at first. It will come eventually. :3

I had people saying that to me for an long time, and well it's still no luck.

I run an YouTube channel for 3 years or so for gaming videos and I spent hours and days into it and I uploaded allot in a week. I have over 150 videos and around 30K views. One day I gave up since the time is not on my side and running websites. I had allot of people sayinf the same thing to me for 3 years and I only have 110 subs

And yet I seen YouTube gaming channels get over 500 in a month, I have seen channels grow in a year with over 3000 subs. My mate has an channel with 8 videos (last uploaded 1 year ago) and two of them are made up my me and I made the channel art for him and he has over 1800 subs and 100K views...

I noticed with most forums that just open - they get a lot of guests. It's normal to get guests with around the same IP. If it gets up to like 300+ guests and you haven't recently advertised via social media or anything I would definitely look at banning the IP at least temporarily. My forum gets 300+ guests after I tweet a bit or even share the link on other forums. 😀

When there is new content that has been posted on my community website it does get posted on twitter and Facebook, so if there is 20 content then 20 posts that gets on social network.

When I was running SMF and now IPS from July, always had that going. End of the day I do get traffic from it but not allot of new signups or anything like that
