I think this is a really good question. And no, I wouldn't put online jobs on my real-life resume. If it was for customer service and call center-related, I would put it on there.
Personally, I've never done that. However, if I landed a work from home job, online in IT that would be something I put on my resume. Especially if it was a reputable, legitimate company.
I never have, because I don't think they would count as a real job, personally. Real life and online jobs are very different to one another. It may be a waste of time listing online jobs, as real life experience and interactions mean so much more to employers.
Well a lot of people get paid for their services so I was wondering if it was worth the trouble of putting it on there. Interesting that not many of you have done it. I personally haven't either but I thought I was the only one. lol Could be relevant depending on the field though.
I never have, but my only online experience is being staff at forums and what not. Never have I been paid for my services. I've created graphics - so perhaps I could say I was a free lance graphic designer if I was seeking a job relating to that outside of the online world. Otherwise I think most people would take it as a joke. 😛
I think putting an online job on a resume is good for a lot of young workers with little to no real work experience, volunteering experience, or little work and volunteering experience related to the kind of work a worker is applying to. Putting an online job is probably better than not putting any work experience, or putting "looking for work or unemployed 2011-2015"
I sometimes put a link on my resume to my website which I made because it has articles which I written on it, so they can learn more about what I know vs. searching online and finding my Facebook, Twitter, and social networking pages, and seeing my non-professional activities like my hobbies which include anime, cartoons, video games, and movies which may make me look like someone who just want to have fun : ) .
This. 😛 Although, despite this, being an Administrator on FP and a mod on the RuneScape Forums are both really valuable things. Those actually might go on my resume if I were applying for a job in community management, but I guess it's not relevant for anything else. Fortunately my resume is pretty good though, so I think I'm fine.
I am not sure. But I never put my online stuff on my CV. The only thing in skills wise was cPanel because who knows, it might come in handy in a job if have website hosted on it.
