What do insanely wealthy people buy, that ordinary people know nothing about?
 
Islands? And I saw a show on collectibles and this guy would buy fancy jars that were worth a ton (They didn't look all that amazing to me..)
 
Some may buy antiques just to furnish and decorate their homes. Certain things that might be kept in museum.

Never seen it like that before, but if the person likes to host parties and events, I can partially see why one would add more bathrooms to the house.
 
Insanely wealthy people most likely will have to buy a ton of security for their home. It's nothing my family has ever had to worry about.
 
Buy an island,Buy wildlife stuff like rhino horns, alligator or tiger or leopard skin. I've even heard about a coffee beans that are extracted from elephant feces, it is very very popular among in rich people.
 
Indirect political power is obvious.

Fancy cars, investing in the stock market, and promoting and sponsoring small business's,
 
There have been new car companies I never heard of before that I've seen more and more about all of the sudden but suddenly they were always there just only rich people knew about them xD
