This is upseting. I got a feeling the lobbyist are just doing this so people won't have a free alternative like Gimp! to paid software like Photoshop.

At least, the lobby groups are not also going after Closed-source freeware companies like paint.net Avant Browser, Spywareblaster, etc which relies on donations and their paid version for corporate customers if they have one.

The liberals are the ones who come up with ideas, and the conservatives are the ones who say, "That's not going to work." Whenever the liberals have an idea fail, the conservatives rebound. That's how it's been for the entire history of this country. Liberals have ideas. When they work, the Democratic party has a surge. When they don't work, the Republicans are there to say, "We told you so," and they surge because of it.
