OpenArms is not just a discussion board, we're different. We have open discussion for a wide variety of interests and we say: "Why go to forums where they discuss a specific interest when you can come here and discuss it and many other interests you may have such as music, sport, science, roleplaying, TV, life issues, world events and such?"
Being hosted on Jcink gives us more options than being hosted by InvisionFree. Many more features such as a working money and shop code(yes, we'll have a user owned shop feature), arcade, gallery, groups, army rpg, working shoutbox that is completely automatic, lottery, IRC chat, working skin selector which allows us to use a different image set for each skin and so much more. And let's not forget the extra security features and many extra little things that make our job easier - which in turn makes your stay more enjoyable as we can get much more done.
We will have a custom skin as that is the latest trend, but we will have a few other popular skins in our rotating skin selector.
Our contests will involve not just posting or referring people, but getting involved with the community and the better your posts are the more points you get. As well as that, we have a nice little unique competition that involves spreading your abilities and getting something in return.
You know how boards are sometimes not ready for their updates? We have all our updates just ready for the right time for release as to not open up everything the day we open.
At OA we encourage not only topics asking what you last ate or what your favourite colour is(pointless) but we like to get to know you as a person, not just as an avatar, signature and username. This is the point behind OA that will make us different. On staff are Eddy, Elindor, Bo. and myself. We hope you come and enjoy the forum when we open.
