Soon as I saw that it was available, I downloaded it on the spot on all three of my household's computers. I must say, it looks amazing. On my Windows 7 laptop it does seem to have a glitch in the default style, but it looks fine on Vista and XP.

They claim it to be 7x faster than any other browser, and I did notice a speed increase. My issue now is that my browser is faster than my home connection, so i'm stuck at my current speed

From 10.00 it's a major step up, a lot of new features (it now has private browsing like Firefox, but needs to be fine tuned). Overall, I think it's getting closer and closer to being the "perfect" browser available.

For me, Chrome is still faster. With more add ons in Chrome, it seems like Chrome wins for me.

Opera now has 3 different rendering engines. Chrome may very well be currently faster if you have a cache built up, however once you build one with Opera you will notice the true speed.

As for addons, I doubt it. It's not well known, but Opera has 2 "addon" platforms, Widgets and Unite Apps. Widgets act like standalone programs, little external programs that may be ran even if the browser is not running. Unite Apps use the Opera Unite protocol to do amazing things, such as allow you to run a web server inside your browser.

Opera 10.50 also supports CSS3 and HTML5 now, finally the rounded corner CSS command works

I'm going to give this a shot on me laptop right now 🙂 Haven't been on Opera since the 9 release. At 10 already? They must overclock their developers 😛

Well thats me using Opera at the moment and I don't really notice too much of a difference. On Windows 7 it looks a bit strange at the bottom. Still slower than chrome, but I'm going to keep testing it 🙂

Glad to see people are more willing to demo things these days. I may be an Opera fan boy, but I downloaded FF3 to play around with, and I have the latest Chrome on my desktop. Hopefully you'll like it, out of the box it appears very basic and clean, but once you start playing with things you'll find awesome features like voice controlled browsing.

They've been moving very fast recently, I think it's due to the extra marketshare. With more and more smart phones being available to the public, and Opera still holding a strong market for them with the free Opera Mini, people are trying Opera on their home computers. After all, if you can bookmark a site on your phone while at work and it updates to your computer at home, it makes things so much easier.

I have to say it looks a lot better than it did before.

But, I don't plan on switching. I've been with FireFox too long 😛

Getting a new browser configured with all your settings can be a real pain, I feel ya there man. I've been with Opera so long that I would find it hard to switch away, learn a new system and transfer bookmarks. I stick with Opera because they are *always* pushing the edge with amazing new features and such, they show no signs of slowing down. They've yet to let me down 🙂

Well I can say one thing, the new Opera is a hell of a lot better than Firefox 🙂 I'm loving it but I'm used to chrome so I'll be sticking with it. I may use opera for other things like testing codes etc 🙂 Also I agree with the better speed of Opera than the last version 🙂

What do you use for PR checking? As in toolbar wise? I don't really fancy using widgets and can't seem to find any information on any other quick PR checking tools that are being developed or work well.

Personally speaking I just click on one of my speed dial tabs, which brings up this page;
http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php

Then I pate the url, click enter, type the security code, enter again, and bam. Under a minute and always right. One thing Opera doesn't yet support is "toolbars", but then again they are becoming less and less used (opposed to addons / widgets). Have you looked for a Windows sidebar widget for PR?

I'm using it on me laptop at the moment so it's Debian, you know me dude I'm too lazy to keep pasting into a site every time 😛 I can't leave SearchStatus in Firefox 🙁

Yeah was having a look at it, guess I shall have to suck in the hate and use it when required. Thanks for the link and for this news update 🙂

No problem mate, glad you like it. I've just created a shortcut to my desktop for that widget, and i'll probably get used to using it more often myself. In a way, you helped me ;-)

Waiting for the Linux deb release... I have been one to not be able to stick with just one browser... I did try Opera once and grew tired of it, so, I hope it doesn't disappoint me.
