Opinions on Fileze.net

Hey there,

I would love to hear your thoughts on www.fileze.net.

I would also specifically like the answers to the following two queries:
~ Should Fileze.net have a pay-per download option for users to earn money?
~ Should Fileze.net convert videos (of a variety of formats) to stream them for the user (downloading them would still be allowed)?

Question 1: Yes, this would attract a lot of people and increase the traffic as well. 🙂
Question 2: Maybe in the future you could add a section called "Fileze Tube" or so and it will be only for videos. 😉

It looks neat. I think a pay per download will motivate a lot of people but I don't think it's very necessary.

Some people may abuse it and it would be work to catch those abusers.

But, if you want to take the risk, go for it.

That is a big concern with ppd. I think that it would work out though. I would definitely have to monitor people being paid out though to check they aren't just uploading a picture or something and using a bot to download it.

I see what you mean, but it's a premium script, it's not that hard to set it up.. but good luck anyway.

Make the register link a different color so it stands out. You might even want to consider using an image that says Register! on it - Kind of like a thin button that makes it really appealing / easy to see.

To make the registration process even easier, you could even make it a small popup (jquery kind of thing) and eliminate certain fields.

I recommend getting rid of First/Last Name and just putting 'Name' or 'Username' as a field (which you currently have on the bottom).

Also, no reason for Title (Mr, Mrs, etc), in my opinion.
Overall, the site loaded rather slowly at first, but quickly after that.


I think that this box here could be turned into a Login Box for guests, or maybe a more attractive blurb about Registration benefits. Basically, a guest could see it and be like "Oh wow, I really should engage in this quick registration because these benefits are awesome!" and a member could be like "oh I'm not logged in".
I feel that the text is rather bland in that box.

The appearance is clean overall, and minimal - I like that. It makes it seem quite easy to use. I'm not sure if your site has waiting times for guests that download from your site, but you might want to consider putting a small ad/blurb that says "Free uploads, free downloads and no wait times!" - It's very encouraging for frequent uploaders when they know their friends won't have to wait 20 seconds to view a file/download it.
