I have been looking for my surname in a tld for a while unfortunatly I share it with a famous car maker 🙁 I have found it available as .pw . My intentions are to use it for email only and would like to know if you all would consider it ok, or if it would come across as spammy.

It would be like this - [email protected]

Just looking for some thoughts.

I've actually debated getting a .pw recently. On one hand they are very cheap which is great and allows anyone really to get a domain name with ".pw". Though, I am afraid that a lot of spammers will start to use them and it could hurt the value.

I was looking at the .pw as the only other tlds they could offer with my surname was the .uk.net and gb.net and those are £25.00 a year compared to .pw that is £7.99. I have got myfullname.co.uk but would rather have firstname@surname. Fancied .ie but apparently you have to live in ireland to be able to register it?

I think .pw has a lot of potential. It's new and has lots of domains available. (I have been looking them up. Tons of good ones.)
I think if the market opens up a bit and the general public accepts it... it will be very profitable.

What about the use as an email only address? That is the only reason I am looking at .pw.

It's fairly easy to remember. It doesn't look bad. It can be used for many different acronyms. I think it would look good for an e-mail.

PW stands for professional website. I see no reason to not use it. Your site is only as spammy or as bad as you make it. The domain has little impact on it in the long term.

If you're just using it for email, definitely go for it. It looks great and the look is what's important in this case.

Go for it, its good to be unique every now and then.

But if you are using it for business purposes
some people might think it is incomplete or instinctively think that a .com goes after the pw extension.

I bought the PW for my blog, but besides that I probably wont be buying another.
