According to Microsoft, 53% of mobile users making search queries on Bing (via mobile device and often voice searches) included local search terms. The typical search by a mobile user included questions about businesses and locations either not that far away, pretty close or right in front of them (such as with in-store product queries).

Mobile users are reaching out to the internet, not for locations of online sites but directions to and reviews of local places. Many of these mobile users are equipping the internet as a tool to enrich their real, offline (rather than virtual online) lives.

If you can harness this knowledge, you'll better enable your site to answer the questions your mobile users are asking.

For locally owned businesses, be sure to include proper contact information with full address and phone number, directions and any other relevant details. Place customer reviews on your home page. Enable Google places and other local search sites for your business. Take the time to cater to the local user and you'll benefit from increased traffic to your online site and offline business.

A lot of people nowadays use their mobile phones to look up stuff, I know I do a lot! So site owners must be sure that the mobile versions of their sites look great too because bad mobile sites can turn away lots of traffic. Thanks for the tips for local businesses!

Status quo right not is that mobile users are increasing and this is a great way to use it to drive more people to your website. Getting more traffic would be achievable if you invest in CPM (cost per 1000 impressions) advertising , I heard that Bluagile has a self-serve RTB platform which you could use and get traffic from.
