Which would you prefer to be active on? The original promotion forums (such as Forum Promotion or Infinet Results) or the so-called "Copies" that everyone seems to be coming out with these days? I prefer to be active at the originals, because those are more than likely the ones that have been around the longest, and therefore, if that's the case, then you get to know the staff members fairly well. The newer forums, I'm sad to say, sometimes don't always last that long and are closed down before the year is even out. So I really prefer to be active at the original sites if they are still open after all this time, because you get better results, and if the staff decides to join your forum, you can bet that it'll be staff members you've gotten to know and be good friends with at the same time. Not to put down any newer forums out there, that's just really how I feel.

I think thats how a lot of people feel, but i still like joining the new forums to show my support, it's important the new forum admins don't give up - as if they keep up with everything then the forum should succeed 🙂

The main reason i can see people choosing the bigger promotion forums is because they are bigger (most of the time) which would be better for promoting.

That is true. I guess I typically like forums of all sizes, but if it's a forum that I've been on for at least a year (like FP) then I'll tend to hang around the older ones more. Of course, I too sometimes join a newer promotion forum if it's one that looks interesting. If I don't use it for their services, I guess I'll at least hang around other sections of the forum as well.

I'll join any, as long as I can promote. However, if it is a copy of another forum, I'll just give my two cents and buzz off.

I'd prefer to be more active on the forum that's more active.

Actually, that's what I like too. Forums that have more posts or activity, or members that are on almost all the time, are probably going to yield better results, no matter how big the forum is, really. I'm kind of attached to FP and IR, though...

Well said Shotgun. As a promoter it is best if you are member of every promotion forum but you will get better result from promotion forums that are bigger and more active.

Well, there are so many out there now, all offering unique services, then there are some that have identical forum layouts... It looks stupid, as if someone stole the database...

I do not see what you are ranting about. There really are no 'original' promotion forums. You can't tell if the cookie you are eating is original or not, can you?

Over time, people do get bored of the same forum and move on, and because of the diverse number of promotion forums now, it gives them many options.

I do not, however, like forums that have just the same services that FP does, or just link services. Link services are no good on a new forum that anybody hardly visits.

No such thing.

Don't you think that post might have hit promotion forum owners hard? They (usually) work their butts off to try and maintain a forum, and to say they "copied" an "original" forum makes that just sound bad. There isn't an original, nor (usually) a copied forum.

I dont mind if a promotion forum is new or old.

The key things for me are activity and members. I wouldnt join another forum with say all members from FP on it because chances are you will have already seen my advertisment here, and its a waste of my time.

Your forum doesn't even have a TLD, so why are you so cocky? All successful boards will need a TLD domain, co.cc is just so unprofessional but yet you boast about your forum being "the best", well it's definatly not.
Have you seen Acorn's proboards forum? No TLD there, but hell successful.

You know, you remind me of another member here.

No I have't seen them, wouldn't of minded a link... All in all, forums with no TLDS, especially promotion forums fail within the first 3 months.

And to that reminder of another member mark, well that's good for you, as im Zak and have not registered here before so if im reminding you of another person here hopefully that person is nice so I know I made a good impression

Here is a link :: http://warriorcatsarpg.proboards.com/ It has over 600000 posts now.

In actual fact, that other member was a friend of mine, but happened to dislike some certain others. 🙂
