If you're not familiar with this situation, the Oroville Dam is a major dam that's located in middle California. It has recently undergone a spillway failure, and the city of Sacramento is at risk of being completely flooded if any heavy rain comes down on the area. 188,000 people have already been evacuated.

What are your thoughts on this? Should the state have done more to prevent a situation like this?

It's California they have more important things to spend money on to pay for welfare and sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants to give them free healthcare and housing. /s

In all seriousness they could have done more, but to be realistically brutally honest they never would have to begin with. There needs to be a ton of changes in California for things to change for the better to avoid situation like this that is happening right now.

I don't want to offended anyone that lives there...... but, some of the people need to be washed away. Maybe it's karma coming to bite them. Yes it's an in unfortunate thing. There was so much that could be done. Why didn't they call in the corps of engineers sooner? That's my opinion.

If you lived near a dam I doubt you'd personally do anything to make sure it's safe.

My thoughts go out to those people that are living in the flooded location. I have an mate that lives in apple valley and he goes near there and whatnot and I'm thinking that he's going to be alright however it will affect him badly if this does happen.

I'd blow it up and claim insurance.
And what will you say to the people that are homeless and can't claim? or maybe life is lost

Unless I am mistaken, they could have emptied it earlier to help prevent something like this from happening.

The evacuation has been lifted. Residents are returning to their homes now.

I haven't really been following this. Been too busy with work and it's on the other side of the country from where I live.

I feel really bad for all the people and the animals. I said a huge prayer the night I saw it on FB. They supposibly had this threat a few years ago too. They should have repaired it the first time before something like this happened.
