I'm down to 2-3 forums that I check on and I'm active on. I'd like to add to that list, looking for more large communities. Know of any? You can PM me if links are not allowed :X

I suppose Digital Point would count but it's a shadow of it's past really.

You could always make my forum one of your regulars lol 😉

Yes this can be counted as one of the Forums for good promotion as it generates good traffic.

Already apart of that community as well. I might join up on some of your forums too ;] But I'm really looking for big forums, so far I'm part of v7n forums, sitepoint, Digital point... That's it really :]

There used to be so many more active communities in the past. Sadly, foruming has died a bit over the years.

foruming hasn't really died too much, just promotion forums/advertising forums...

I agree, in the early 2000's and before, forums were HUGE and it was easier to build a decent sized community. I ran two successful forums then. A movie forum and a Graphic design forum. Sadly, things have really slowed down but I don't think they will completely die off.

Just stay with FP. 😛

There are other big forums. V7n, digital point, warriors forum. Depends on which niche you want.

I'm active with those forums. And don't worry, I'm sticking around here :]

FP is really the only big forum I prefer to advertise my site at all. The Admin Zone isn't exactly welcoming, and Digital Point seems to be turning into something of a spammer's playground. Besides that, I've originally been a member of FP since 2008 and I feel more comfortable here than I probably would on other forums of this size and activity level.

I agree with most of those points, although you still had to work hand back then, even with a forum which had a fairly unique market. Nowadays, there are too many resources easily available on the web, of course, social media's growth is playing it's part in reduced forum activity.

On top of all that, forums by their very nature, were specifically designed for desktops and laptop displays (although we all know that mobile styled forums are easily achievable), even if not 100% user friendly as they are when sitting in front of a conventional PC!

Also, we know that the PC market is shrinking significantly every few years, as more and more people move towards mobile devices (iphones, pads, tablets).

One day we will wake up with the knowledge that PC's and forums as we know them now - have had their time!!! (I just hope there is still some gas in the tank for a few more years).

All the best,
Cal 🙂
