Let me brag of our new laptop, the first ever to replace the old desktop. It is an HP Notebook 348 that is fitted with Windows 7. But in the poster of the promo, it was supposed to be loaded with Windows 10. Another question is the MS Office. When we tested the Word, we were asked of a product code or email address. And maybe that also applies to the spreadsheet. We’re still waiting for the reply of the vendor. It looks like it will take a week before we can settle comfortably with the new laptop.

@Corzhens Many people still to this day prefer Windows 7 over any of the operating systems released after it, so you may have been lucky in that regard 😀

As for the product code in Word, it'll be the same for all of the programs included in the Microsoft Office package. Simply input the code or an email address and you should be good to go.

And congrats on the new toy! 😀

Thank you for the encouraging words, @TDK. But we have an issue now because the bundle of our new laptop does not include MS Office so we cannot access word documents and spreadsheets. It's really bad that we had overlooked that. On the brighter side, the vendor promised to give us an installer of the 2007 MS Office which is good enough. So we are now scouting for an anti virus with a license. But for the meantime, I guess we have to download and install AVG.

Here are two things that may help as far as an antivirus goes. It is free and comes from Microsoft themselves.

Windows Defender SHOULD NOT be your anti virus solution. It is crap and is a waste of hard drive space.

BitDefender is the only anti virus I trust, with Malwarebytes being a close second. Do not use AVG.
