Out of toilet paper?

this world is just crazy, All my stores around me are empty with nothing. just bare

I can understand why people are hoarding the hand sanitizer and medical face masks and things like that. However, I'm having trouble trying to figure out why people are hoarding the toilet paper. Does the Coronavirus come with some new symptom that I don't know about that causes you to have the screaming mimi's (that's what I refer to as diarrhea)?

The cleaning supplies at the retailers in my hometown have been wiped out for the last week or two. Toilet paper has been shopped a lot heavier than normal, but we still have a little bit of the expensive toilet paper at my local Walmart. People are panicking, and I get that.

Everything that is going on right now is crazy. Within the last 24 hours, we've see the NBA, NHL, MLB, and MLS suspend play until further notice, with the NBA saying that they would be on a hiatus for at least 30 days. Then we've also seen the NCAA completely cancel the men's and women's March Madness basketball tournaments, which is where the inspiration of our Site Battle Madness event comes from. Most colleges were on Spring Break either this week or last week, and they straight up told students to not come back. My alma mater is an example. They're going to finish the spring semester with all classes occurring online. Also, the local school system in my county is still attending class, but any county in TN that has had a confirmed Coronavirus case has pretty much shut down the schools.

I chose the wrong time to run out of toilet paper... had to spend like $10 more then normal

I've seen a few listings on the Facebook Marketplace where people are trying to sell their toilet paper for like $10 per roll. I'm sure no one is actually doing that and it's just a joke, but it says a lot. The demand for all of these staple items is through the roof, so I'm sure Lysol and things like that will be double the price when they are finally back in stock.

As of this evening, there are now 18 confirmed Coronavirus cases here in Tennessee. Yesterday, that number was only 9. It doubled overnight.

I agree, in Australia now supermarkers are limiting the amount you can buy, only 2 packets of pasta, rice or tissues. One packed of toilet paper.

Getting real interesting..

It's so bad that the stores can't even get them in stock, as soon as they do they are all out of stock again. At least that the brands are making a lot of money and the manufacturers are working their butt off. If there is no toilet paper left then use newspaper 😛

You can also use paper towels if you run out of toilet paper.

I haven't stocked up on anything. I haven't noticed any hoarding on anything. Paper towels are used much in my house, other than to wipe up a spill. But we use cloth napkins and dish towels and just launder everything. I haven't check our stock on toilet paper but I think we have enough to last a couple of weeks. I have enough canned tomatoes to keep me going. I make just about everything from scratch anyway and the pantry is well stocked.

I could be wrong but I know I read somewhere than Australian papers printed extra empty pages....you can imagine the reason why.

Haha, wouldn't that hurt? Newspapers are the softest things!

I coincidentally stocked up on toilet paper before the hoarding even started because it was on sale at that moment and I figured it'd be nice not having to buy toilet paper for a while. I still have 32 rolls and an opened pack with like 3 or 4 rolls in it left, so at least I won't run out of toilet paper anytime too soon. 😛

According to health experts the symptoms are dry cough and high fever, so this toilet paper hoarding isn’t even worth while because it doesn’t cause diarrhoea so once this is all over toilet paper companies will be sitting on loads of unused stock!

well, I have 4 rolls left and so it won't lat long since there are 3 people and two toilets in this house
