Since its close to the holidays, I was wondering if anyone’s job offer any overtime to be worked during holidays or any overtime at all for regular weeks.

At my job, we’re offered overtime for regular work weeks and for holiday weeks. I sometimes take them up on the offer but other times, I’m like no, thanks because I’m exhausted from the last overtime. 😅

We don’t offer overtime as such but there are usually extra shifts available to picked up around holiday season!

My job really isn’t impacted by the holiday season where overtime would be offered because of it. Overtime is available frequently just because of the amount of turnover we have.

We haven't really had overtime at my work recently, the amount of work we've been getting has kind of slowed down a bit. People still send in payments for their credit cards, loans, etc but it's certainly not as much as it once was back in the day. Our schedules have also changed at work and the time we get mail delivered to the office has changed as well so it's been at a point where we've been pretty good about keeping up with things on the mail extraction side in my office. Keying is a bit more though, especially since we've got so many things being processed on different machines. That could change after the Holidays though, people like to wait to pay their bills until after the Holidays so they have disposable income for gifts and such.

My job doesn't allow me to get any overtime. They make sure I don't go past 40 hours.

My husband on the other hand.......he's been getting overtime pretty much the whole year.

My job doesn't do over-time. I'm on salary and my hours are set in stone.

If they don't, I think they should; nobody likes spending those holidays alone or at work.

I guess I spoke too soon, since we got snow here last Saturday and Monday, a few people called in myself included so we got a bit behind and they offered overtime for those who wanted it. But like I said, it varies when we are offered overtime. We don't have mandatory overtime like my previous job did. (And honestly that really sucked.)

I'm only part-time, so I don't really get overtime. I often worked six days a week instead of five, and I sometimes worked longer shifts than normal during the holiday season, however.

We don't have the labor to support overtime, even during the holidays. We're stretched thin pretty much all year, it's awful (and one of the reasons why I'm wanting to leave). That said, I still ended up with overtime on some weeks because it was either that or not get the work done. On weeks where I felt like I was going to get overtime (I actually can't see my hours worked anymore unless I ask another leader or use a different app on my phone to see my hours worked, but it's not always updated if I have to do a punch request for clocking in early/clocking out late), I tried to "reclaim" some of my time by taking slightly longer lunches or trying to go in a little later or leave a little earlier, but it never ended up working out, and I still ended up with the overtime.

At least the paychecks were nice lol.

We were able to pick up extra shifts on any unit but they lowered the amount of bonus pay you got per hour just before December hit. 🙃

Just the normal rush hour before the days of chrstmas then adter it was over, but for some at least many had good two weeks off
