Now that more people are using AI to write for their websites, there are some overused verbs and adjectives that really need to go. It used to be that the term "reimagine" was popular years ago, and I'm glad that one faded away, but now there are terms like "elevate" "unleash" "empower" "ignite".

Do you have any of those words on your website? For those who have noticed the trend, does it annoy you as much as it does me?

I don't have any of those words on my sites, I don't use AI to generate content either. These terms are definitely overused, I think webmasters should use other terms. It's fine if you want to use AI of course, but perhaps edit any of these terms and look for similar ones to change things up.

I don’t have any sites of my own but you do see ‘ignite’ used way too much. It’s especially evident on social media small business pages when people are trying to get a following going and as soon as I see it, I just move straight on.

YES!! I move on too!! It's like a total turn off at this point.

In the field of writing novels, they say the word "I" is overused. It's advised to use different words more often. Is anyone annoyed by "I".?

I've been a writer for a couple of years now, and I agree with you that writers should be creative and unique. Overused words on certain forums and sites should stop.

To be able to create content isn't easy, but it's definitely worth it.

I never really relied on AI and coming with forum descriptions have never been a natural thing for me, I feel like I often would cause whiplash with a tone shift describing forums. Usually starting too formal and ending too casual. Hahaha.

Even back in the days I used to be a lot more active in communities, I still recall seeing adjectives and certain phrases being overused. At this point I just expect it. Some of those, as people have pointed out, serve more like flags to navigate into the kind of community I rather spend my time in.

I do not use a lot of adjectives because too many adjectives make your language superfluous.
