My friend is willing to give me his owned vBulletin license for $90.

Is it worth the upgrade? If I do buy it, I plan to have Fratal.Org powered by it.

My friend also stated it has 8 months of update/support left. What happens after the 8 months? Do I have to pay anything else?

Make sure they do actually own a license... Only because they have the software doesn't always mean they have a license.
