Ozzy Osbourne has passed away, most likely from complications due to having Parkinson's disease. I had really hoped he would have been around another decade or so since he's an incredible musician and fun to watch on reality tv.
I've got all of his early work with Black Sabbath and a couple of his solo albums on vinyl so I've always had an appreciation of his music. I saw Sabbath live very early on in their career. I remember them being ridiculously loud, far too loud for the PA system but the audience seemed to love it. My ears however did not!
Two of my favourite songs are 'The Wizard' from the first Black Sabbath Album and 'Diary of a Madman' primarily because of the guitar work by the late, great Randy Rhoads.
Although he was in terrible health I didn't expect him to die so soon after playing his last gig so it was a bit of shock. He was a larger than life figure whose influence on the music world will endure for many years to come. R.I.P. Ozzy Osbourne.
I was upset when I found out he passed away. I didn't believe it at first since I read about it on Reddit. I tried listening to See You On The Other Side but I just can't, it hits differently now. Mama I'm Coming Home does too but both songs are amazing. My favorite song from when he was part of Black Sabbath are Electric Funeral and Black Sabbath. Not going to lie, his death is still hitting me. His music was a huge part of my childhood and I used to watch The Osbournes as a teenager. RIP Prince of Darkness, we'll see you on the other side someday!
My favorite solo songs are No More Tears, Road To Nowhere, and See You On The Other Side. I'm listening to No More Tears right now lol.
