Hello,

As the Package Team Leader of FourmPromotion.net, I can tell you we strive to do our best work possible and to keep backlog free. However, as many of you active package requesters may have noticed, recently we have had some trouble keeping up. We know we cannot allow this to continue on the same path, and that's why we got together as a team and discussed possible solutions to the issue. Our results are the following;

  • Offering only a single package of 20 posts, 3 new topics, going for 50 FP Cash.
  • Removing the extra posts due to lateness.

These two actions will be effective as of the package requests re-opening on Tuesday, 5/26/2009. I will be more than happy to address all concerns to these changes in this topic ~smile~

Or you could just add another package staff member to the team and call it solved. 😀
Just kidding; that seems find with me, Ghost.

Removing the extra posts was ideal. Sure it was beneficial to the requesting member, but I'm sure they're satisfied, just aslong their package is completed.

I wanted to suggest a "Registration Package". For newer forums, and some who are just looking for a boost in memebrs. It would be something like, 3 new members from the package team register, and make 1 new topic (like an intro, or topic anywhere else). Even i would help with those.

Yeah, I like that idea. I also like the idea of the registeration package as well.

We've thought about adding one where we just have x amount of new members join, but it gets tough to find that many active staff members and completion time gets extended greatly. Also, the quality and number of posts goes down. Overall, we think this was the best possible solution ~smile~

Thanks for the feedback so far guys, good to know you're all cool with it ~razz~

I think there should be some sort of second package, maybe an Active Member Package, 5 posts a week for four weeks. Or as mentioned before, a registration package, I would definitely be willing to help with the registration package as would a lot of other staff members.

I also think removing the extra posts is a good idea, it really isn't a good idea if you think about it. If your package is late it will be because of a backlog, and the extra posts just slow things down even more.

Weekly posts seems like a stretch.

Registration package would be cool, with 1+ post from each account though (some people do not want accounts with 0 posts).

With a registration package you'd either have to wait extra time for staff members to complete your package, which could lead to a backlog, or you'd need the current staff members to make more than one account while posting, which to "hide" it properly you'd need to allow them to use Proxy's and other systems often associated with hacking and compromising security, something which I doubt the admins would like to associate with ForumPromotion ~wink~

I'm not completely against the idea though, I'd like to hear more thoughts on the matter.

I must've worded it wrong, but yeah, Tecca, each new member would make 1 new topic apiece. Whether it be an intro, or something.

A post is easy too make, but a topic, usually at least gets more members involved, which gets more posts. And just making 1 topic would be much less work for the package team. They really do have one of the toughest job's here.

I have to agree with ghost on this, i think a registration package would get out of hand and be unorganized, plus even though your getting new members i dont know about everyone else but when i get a new meber who only makes 1 post and leaves, it makes me and my comunitty feel as though there is something wrong with the forum that scared away the member.

I do however think we should have a second package that was only like 10 posts or something just to help boost a forum

I think that this a great idea for the package team. It will take the huge work load off their backs from the bigger packages and they will be able to complete requests faster.

Nicely done. -D-

I thought maybe you could have another team of members for the other package to spread the workload. Is that an option?
