Personally, I enjoy being on the Package Team as it allows me to do what I love and thats joining new forums. Some of which, I am now active on and I never knew about them before hand.
I applied for the role, and was accepted not long after. It is great to be a part of the team here.
While I'm not a part of a package team, I can tell you this. It's the same as almost any other staff position. It's just your mindset. I first started out on FP writing reviews (and mine sucked at first 😛). A lot of people hate writing reviews. I, personally loved writing reviews. As I climbed the FP ladder, I realized it was mindset. Certain people love certain jobs.
I enjoy being on the package team because it allows me to join new communities and get to know new people. Plus it's fun posting on forums and blogs and I enjoy helping people out as best as I can. 🙂
Personally, I've always enjoyed frequenting forums and loved helping out new forums. When I first joined FP I hung out at the exchange boards a lot. Eventually I was recruited by Lorcan to become part of the Package Team because someone had recommended me. The Package Team helped me out A LOT back when I was establishing my forum and blog. I took advantage of as many packages as I was able. When Lorcan asked me to join up I decided it was my time to give back. 🙂
I applied to be on the package team. I enjoy posting on forums and helping out new forums with my posting services. Being on the Package team here gives me better opportunity to help new forums out and people respect you more since your on staff.
I enjoyed working on the package team here, when I did. I also work on another forum as a PTL because I really enjoy signing up on new communities and joining in on some of the fun discussions that are going on. Also, being on the package team can be very rewarding for you!
The first team was on was the PT. I can say it was a wonderful experience helping out forums which have just started out, or giving a slight activity boost to an established forum. It came with challenges which made it that more fun, posting about niches you have little or no background in. You have to be creative and come up with discussions which will not die down after a short period. 😀
That is a good question, the "job" never interested me personally. If I did ever take on such a role, it probably be a short term commitment because I think it would become monotonous pretty quickly.
I do appreciate what packagers do though. The team here is pretty good at what they do.
