Are you able to force a password reset on your forum? Have you had to use it before? Wy?

There's no easy way to do it on my forum software but you are able to force a password reset using phpMyAdmin. It's not too complicated. I haven't had to use it before but I guess it is good to know in the future. I wonder if any forum softwares have that feature inbuilt.. I don't think I know of any of the main popular ones at least.

I'm able to force people to reset their passwords, but I do not normally use the tool unless there's a reason. People have the ability to reset their passwords anyway. I know some MyBB forums that simply use the "Forgot Password" link to send password resets to the accounts. Though, I don't know of a software that doesn't let you edit someones password via ACP.

I am able to do password resets on my community, however prefer not to unless there was a security issue of some form. If the person truly forget their password they can always use the "I forgot my password" link which will check with their email address and send them a temporarily random password that the system generated.
