Paying their fair share?

Quite often, the people that profit the most.

Trying to determine what is fair is an almost impossible job. Large corporations will tell you they have to answer to their shareholders and therefore they are duty bound to pay as little in tax as possible. People living in poverty will say that's an obscenity and they must pay more.

The answer probably lies somewhere in between the two extremes but there's no way to facilitate a meeting of minds between the very rich and the very poor.

This is exactly how I see it!! I feel "fair" is too subjective of a term and when people vote on fair share they aren't getting an accurate description of what is going to happen. I'm a numbers person...give me numbers so I can see it directly.

Waste or not. No amount of money can "fix" the world's problems. You could throw millions at it and it still wouldn't fix anything since these issues are reoccurring.

I agree with this entirely!!

What I also see is this...the government collects MORE money from all those rich companies and you know what happens? There are more stupid things that the government gives money to for research or grants given and what I mean by this is, have you ever done a search to see what kind of ridiculous stuff the government will pay for? Research that makes no sense but they get thousands to do? That stuff bothers me and more of it is hidden inside some of those bills that are too huge for a normal person to go through and read. It's padded garbage.

Is gambling a waste of money? It sure is when you're not winning. Gambling games are fun like the slot machines. But I feel that those machines are rigged for a certain amount. Personally I've only played with the idea I'd win big but it never seems to happen and I don't have the money to gamble often. So I just don't.
Poker machines and I suspect a lot of table card games demand a huge bankroll to even possibly come out as a winner, aside from freak luck. In that case, it's no different than the huge money you'd put aside at a business venture - which may or may not work.

When I was very young I did a week's heavy manual work for a pittance while trying to pursue a career in the music industry. At the end of the week, Friday lunchtime, I got paid in cash and the guy I was working with dragged me into a betting shop. I watched him blow his week's wages in less than an hour. I also noticed the shop counter had five windows, four for placing a bet and one for paying out winnings.

I learnt a lot that day. Gambling is a mug's game and manual laborers do all the hard work and get paid the least for it. I've also noticed lottery winners who win an obscene number of millions often end up divorced, badly injured, broke or even dead.

Don't let this happen to you. Send all your money to me for safe disposal :woot:

Best thing to do is lay low, don't tell people, don't spend, and move somewhere remote.

Here's an idea from my experience: take half or more of the money and don't touch it for a couple of years.
