Hey, I don't know if this is in the right section, if not, move it, but I need some help with paypal.

Me and my friend back along made a little bit of money with a toolbar, but the money went into his paypal which is a USA paypal account.

We agreed that the money would be transfered from his paypal to mine, but he cant send money as he does not have a bank account or credsit card to verify himself, so he cant send the money to other paypals.

He gave me control to the account and I took a look, it looks as if he can withdraw money to bank accounts, so I tried withdrawing to mine.

The problem is my bank account is based in the UK, so when I try and withdraw it comes up with two things.

  • Account Number
    Routing Number

Now I know my account number but im unsure on what routing number means, I know that it is found on USA bank checks but as i'm in the UK that is a little unhelpful.

I know my IBAN number and SWift Code thing as I got it off my bank, but the routing number is 9 digits long, so what do I enter? Thanks, Mat.

Note: I have changed the $ currency to £

Best thing to do is to call up your Bank and to ask them, they should be able to give you the information you need.

This should be in Forum Tech Support.

What I recommend you do is you should call up paypal and tell them your situation and problem. Paypal might be the strongest place to ask for help as it's their website and paypal is used globally. They might have another layout for people in the UK maybe?

If paypal can't help you, which I highly doubt, because they'll most probably have a solution to your problem. Try to call up your bank and ask them.

Sounds to me like it's because his is a US Paypal account and you are in the UK......

Why don't you open up a Paypal account for yourself, he can then send a cash transfer to your account where you can either use it to pay for goods direct from Paypal or you can withdraw it to your bank account?

Agreed, if you have a US account, I am pretty sure you can not be routing money to an off-shore (international) bank account. I believe the account itself and all information has to be international, and than you would use your Swift account number.

Though, if you are looking for a routing number, these are all listed online. Just google something like "YOUR BANK Routing Number".

The reason I am trying to transfer direct to my bank is because he does not have a credit card or bank account.

Because of this he is not verified, meaning he can not send money to other paypals, so the only way is to transfer direct to my account.

Until he verified it himself I guess I can't do anything, unless there is a way around it.

I'm using an unverified paypal and I can send money.

For me it says (Last I checked) Total amount you can send "0 $"

So I click why and it says, need to verify account.

In order to send money you just have to verify your email. 🙂

No, you have to add a bank account or a credit card for the account to be considered verified.

You don't have to because all I did was verify my e-mail and I can send and receive money.
