I was just wondering..if i sign up for a account @Paypal.com, and if i sell something for $1 (must be paid via Paypal), how will the person send me the money to my Paypal account? Is it possible? And once i receive the money, and i see something that costs $1 online, can i pay for it using my Paypal account that has $1 in it already?

You just send your paypal account to someone and they can send you the money there. If you want to test it, ask a mate to send 2 cents or something 😀

@ 22_22 - 2 cents won't work these days because paypal has introduce a stupid fee on every transaction

Send the cash as a gift then all of the money will be sent 😉

@ Joel, you need to be 18 years or older to sign up for a PayPal account.

u haft to have a credit card or bank account registered in your paypal to be able to send money out (buy stuff)

@ AgentManningCTU - Gift option is not available for every country (I am from India)

@ Nathan - again depends on the country, i had a unverified paypal ever since i was 15 but with a spending limit of 500$

@ Lexic - depends on the site because a lot of sites except unverified paypal and personal transactions are possible with unverified paypals.

You can have one if your under 18 however it's against their TOS (in every country unless it's under a student account, as far as im aware anyway) and if they find out they'll most likely terminate your account.

no the conditions in India are different, we can have a paypal account after 13 but we can verify it only after 18 till then we have a 500$ limit on spending money. And we don't have gift options in paypal transactions 🙁

plus when i made a account the PAN Card No. was not required however now PAN card no. is necessary for registration.

Wrong, quoted directly from the PayPal Legal Agreement:

PayPal is not available to minors (as defined in your jurisdiction, generally those under 18), persons who are suspended from our Service, or to persons who present an unacceptable level of risk.

Reference, Eligibility just above the 1. The Legal Relationship between You and PayPal. section - https://cms.paypal.com/in/cgi-bin/?&cmd ... le.x=en_GB

Also personal transactions (such as gifts etc.) were removed from Indian PayPal accounts as Indians were caught taking advantage of such payments to escape fees.

before quoting me wrong i just want to notify that i am operating a paypal since three years, it is verified just a month ago and i have done legal transactions from it including domain purchases.

now from paypal link you gave

"Countries marked with a in the above table may withdraw funds from their PayPal account to a local bank account, either electronically or by bank draft, or credit card and are considered "Withdrawal Countries"."

India is one such country.

Plus minor accounts of paypal in India were allowed but they were limited accounts however as of present it looks like minor accounts feature is taken off just like gift option is taken off.

That doesn't provide evidence to support your claim in saying that in India you can have an account when you're 13. It just says that you are a Withdrawal country.

The ToS are changed now

3 years ago when i made my account the ToS were different.

anyways there's no point debating on it as Paypal has changed their ToS 🙂

Rules still carry over. If you are a minor, then you shouldn't be allowed to have an account. Of course anyone can just make an account and PP won't know, but if they do know, they will suspend your account indefinitely.

i got one account when i was 15 and i filled in my DOB correctly plus bought domains with it too.

i was just giving my example.
