PC Issues,Open & Shut Game

Strangly which I didn't relise is with most mobile devices the OS and Boot Loader is linked together as with the rest of the firmware.
So an OS Upgrade not made for the system or even A slight model number can render the device bricked.

There should be a way to restore it like an iPhone though.

That's what I'm thinking.

It makes it more complex because it won't boot up.

Only sign of life I get is A bip when you connect it to the computer.

But you need to get into Download Mode for Odin to detect it.

You've just given yourself your own answer. Google "how to get into download mode bricked android" and you'll find results.

Ok Thanks.

I am googling results now.

How much experience would you have with Androids?

I understand why, Atleast you don't have to worry about bricking.

Not true; Actually I could brick my iPhone right now by Jailbreaking it, but I'm not that stupid. Not that I'm implying that you are stupid.

ive Jail Broken lots of apple devices before with no problems.

It's because android is designed for multiply systems and is open source.

Rooting and Jail Breaking are two different things.

Jail Break: Allows apps and freedom that android users can do by default like customizing with themes.

Rooting: Obtains someone complete control over the entire firmware/system from installing and running ubuntu to changing the systems firmware which can brick the device if the firmware model is even slightly wrong.

Just because you have jailbroken something and it has worked doesn't mean that someone, somewhere, hasn't ballsed it up... Jailbreaking can brick devices if not done properly, like with your android and rooting it.

Heh, rooting it... lol. (Think carefully)

When I get it repaired I won't be rooting again If everyone goes to plan It should be late this month or early/late next month.

If your in the middle of the Jail Break process and you lose power or remove the power that can also cause it to be A brick from what ive heard Need to be very carefull with firmware related stuff.

This blog explains what happened..

I think that's more than a little unfair. Spudster has received positive support and advice in this thread and I strongly believe that we have lots of members who have never been a "jerk" to Spudster, or to anyone else for that matter.

A few where comments not needed, Besides that 97% of the comments where ok.

Snob... Has a point, though to be fair, spudster has ruined ny and all reect I ever had for him by framing me for 'hacking' his site, which I didn't do because I had permission to use his FTP and CPanel given by him.

That having been said; Spudster has learnt from his mistakes from what I can gather, and while I still think he is a prick, it does not change the fact that I try to help where I can.

Yes but how long ago was that? I did it it strictly because I was so tempted in upgrading to VBulletin as you offered for free plus I didn't think twice even know I should of but I like that to be left in the past.

I have learnt A few lessons along the way but I guess everything happens for A reason.

It's not relevant how long ago it was. The point is you've learnt from your mistakes.

And, FYI, I did not offer you vBulls**t. Nice try.

As far as leaving it in the past goes... Yeah, just think before you come crying to me for help.

Yes I have.

It was even VB or IPB I carn't remember.

Don't worry I won't be needing help for anything. There are loads of other people from Family to other users etc..

A Raspberry Pi which cost between $25-35 might be the best cheap Linux computer, but I read they get sold out quickly.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi

You also need a monitor with HDMI , or use a TV with those Yellow video connectors.

It also does not come with a keyboard, mouse, SD card, or power adapter.

The additional cost of a keyboard, mouse, monitor, SD card, and Micro USB power adapter can bring up the cost of the Pi by a hundred or more dollars.

They look promising.

A Keyboard & mouses at the lowest are only around $10 not that much.

Can it take any SD Card?

I have A 2GB SD from my 3DS system.

thanks for the idea.

Any NORMAL sized SD card, meaning the type you put in cameras.

That SD forms your HDD - 2GB won't be enough. Just a word of warning.

Ok I managed to get A bootable img version of linux to run with 2gb before. I try to get A 32GB for extra space anyway.

Yes i'm going look into more about rasberry but no normal tech store would sell them, Besides EBay.

Only problem. Atleast I can look online.
