People Asking For +Rep

I understand what you mean and I actually don't mind too much if Rep is politely asked, because yes, it's polite and most people that do ask politely actually do a decent job. However, I still feel that the idea shouldn't be 'hinted' at all.

Though I once did an exchange with one of the 'polite' askers and they kept 'politely' hounding me via PM to give him Rep. That was rather annoying, which may explain why I still have a little distaste for the polite ones as well.

If they hound you, then they're masking their greed with being "polite". And therefore, you would be certainly right to NOT give them rep.

if someone says "I appreciate any rep given", I don't think it's annoying.

Why should they even say that? Isn't it assumed that the person you give rep would appreciate it?

Not always. Quite a few people will simply take an awesome service and fail to recognize the person who did it for them. There's many greedy people in the world who will take advantage of others. This world is far from being inhabited by good honest people.

If they say that they would appreciate rep, it's still your complete choice on giving it to them.

They simply state they would like (at your leisure) a bit of appreciation or recognition if you enjoyed the service, and you can choose whether or not to do so. Open invitation. You don't have to take it.
Only the true jerks are going to say
"HEY! y u not giv me rep?"

Yeah, it's pretty obvious. Still doesn't change the fact that it is annoying.

Actually, I think that was the experience that made me dislike rep askers. xD

Yeah, it can definitely be annoying when people do that, and I can see why it would turn you off a great deal. 😉

If you do a good job, then people should rep you out of their own accord. 'Deserving rep' and 'asking for rep' are two different things.

:great:

If I was satisfied with the work done then I would rep them before they even asked.

I actually tried doing a package once when I ran Madads and it was a hell of a lot of work and it doesn't look like that till you actually start doing the work. Reward the people who do good work so others will go to them because they deliver on the quality posts, gfx, etc. and help to weed out the bad people.

Asking for rep without doing anything should be a warning atleast in my opinion. Otherwise, if they've provided a good service and you feel rep is in order, rep them. If they tell you to rep them don't. Asking isn't too bad, but telling..

I dont mind people asking for rep, if they have completed an exchange or something then its fine
