People hate gays but.

Every area populated by them has lower crime, better education, better everything.
What? As if "the gays" only populate certain areas? I hate to break it to y'all, but gay people are everywhere, in every state, in every city. Yes, some areas are more populated by LGBTQ individuals, and there are reasons for that. Those areas typically have more progressive, inclusive policies that attract not only LGBTQ folks but diversity from all areas and identity groups. And furthermore, as a result of those policies, the community is safer and a better place for these people to live and that makes them happier, and creates much less of a need for them to defend themselves against hatred or violence.

I'm intentionally ignoring the "people hate gays" part of this discussion. If you hate me, find a better reason than the fact that I like dick please.

Side note: There's plenty of sexual activities at pride events if you're looking. And there's nothing wrong with that, assuming all parties are consenting adults.

My point is proven today, California vice mayor has calls for resignation for proclaiming a straight pride. I guess it is offensive to liberal and LGBT groups and only they can have parades it seems. No one else can be happy for who they are.

There is a clear form of hatred for straight people and you are only allowed to be one thing according to the left and LGBT, fascism much?

Being against "straight pride" is not about hating straight people or not wanting straight people to be proud of who they are. When you advocate for a straight pride, or a white history month, or any other appropriation of an event that recognizes a marginalized population, you miss the point of those events. Pride exists because of the discrimination, hatred, and violence that has been targeted at the LGBTQ population historically. The first Pride was a riot - the Stonewall riots - which was a protest and it has since evolved into the even it is today (and it's more than a parade, and it also looks different in each city that has a Pride event). The same is true for, as stated, saying you deserve a white history month because there is a black history month. Every month is white history month because white history is the dominant narrative taught in our education system. Every day is straight pride because straight people don't have to fear coming out, being themselves, holding the hand of or kissing their partner, and heterosexual relationships are once again dominant in society and recognized in every way. The same is not true for black history and LGBTQ folks respectively.

Saying someone can't be happy or should have a pride moment to be prideful of who they are (being straight) is Discrimination, no or is Discrimination a one-way street?

Antifa has openly attacked people based off their color (white) or sexuality (straight). There has been report of over 305 attacks on individuals for similar reasons. (Violence and Hatred)

But, please continue explaining to us how only LGBT and blacks can only have pride parades and we white straight folks need to stay in the closet.

Let's be real, you are both racist and straight phobic. According to your own logic and comments. 😉

People being proud of who they are is fine, but not superior and/or arrogant. Isn't that what started the cultural left anyway?

More than likely the "victims" are almost always hardcore white supremacists. However, though, in this "racist hipster" age :bored: - it's getting more blurry!

What on Earth is this thread?

- Non-straight people exist everywhere.
- "People may hate gays but-" Homophobic people hate gays. That's it.
- Progressive/left-leaning societies have higher quality of life across the board than conservative ones. This is no secret, the ideals lend themselves to benefit more people than conservative.
- Progressive societies are generally more accepting of LGBTQ people than conservative.
- Ergo, places more accepting of the LGBTQ culture have higher quality of life. :nyan:

Wow, shocking.

Well, to be honest, some of the people who hate gays are following a false religion anyway. The Bible translated correctly doesn't support hellfire and maybe not homophpbia either.

/r/The_Donald is leaking again :s

The point of threads like this is the discussion - I shouldnt be dismissive.

This thread has been a bit of a wild ride.

Yes, there are people out there was hate cis white men for being cis white men. Just like there are people out there who hate people for being a different gender, race, religion, sexuality, etc simply because they are.

It really sucks to see white men being called alt-right nazi's because they're white men. It sucks that some people hire based solely on their skin colour, race or sexuality to fill a certain "equality" guideline/quota or because they simply dislike anything but cis white men.

Equality goes for everyone. And until we have that, expect Pride parades. They aren't just for LGBTQ, they're for everyone who wants to celebrate who they are as an individual. Regardless of what they like, who they like, what they look like, or what they believe in.

Butbutbut at least we have lots and lots of guns and incarceration in the U.S. You Australians can't say you have that! Put that in your pipe that you can smoke because you get free healthcare anyway and smoke it!

free healthcare

There is no such thing is "free" healthcare. You either pay for it individually or through taxation. Nothing changes the fact you are still paying for healthcare. Healthcare becomes "affordable" through means of not letting big pharma screwing people over, like this administration who tried to do that by importing drugs from Canada and as well as making it so pharma has to give correct information on drugs when they advertise them on TV as well as pricing so it would force competition and a free market, which was sadly voted down by Democrats. Can't have affordable healthcare it seems in the US says the left!

Democrats don't represent the left, though. 😛 The left is only represented in the U.S. by Greens like Jill Stein, and they can't even get into the debates.

Jill Stein the one who got $20 million to "recount" the votes and ran away after 1 failed recount? lol 😛 Yeah I think I know what she would have done as President that net worth would have skyrocketed like Obama's.

I'd actually be pretty interested to see where the US people really align. I doubt its as polarizing as it seems. I know in Canada, our Conservative and Liberal governments arent that Conservative and Liberal. We've had gay marriage since '05 and we've got legal weed coming later this year. Yes, the healthcare does come with taxes but the money my family has saved from that coverage is insane.

Federally, gay marriage may have not been accepted till around 09, but in many states it was lawful since 1990s. Lot of people don't like mentioning that fact here because they like to pretend gays are oppressed because everyone wants to play pretend in a pretend world like they are fighting for something that literally ended decades ago. Come on Trump administration was the first incoming Administration that supported gays. Obama didn't support them till mid-way through his first term, but people gonna hate nonetheless.
