I really hate when other people come on to forums and copy things i have just come across a forum that has copyed word for word of my Category's and the Description's
Why cant people ask before taking or simply re word things there is me trying to make the forum look good and different to anyone eles and they just come on and copy things.
This really peeeees me off
And for the forum that i have come arcoss you know who you are and i am asking you to remove what you have copyed or re word it in your own words.
I feel your pain. I came across a forum that had copied my forum's rules word for word. That person is pretty dumb, considering that he didn't even edit out the parts that actually said my forum's name. In the end, I will just take it as a compliment and move on, unless it is copyright infringement. In that situation, I will contact whoever I feel needs to be contacted; I could contact an administrator or the forum's host.
Yea i would contact the admin but its the admin is the one that is doing it.

Well when you run a successful forum, its bound to happen. I have it happen to me 3 times already.. by 3 different people. Its not fun but the truth is you cant do anything about it except for asking them to remove it.
If they copy original content, like custom images, you can report to DMCA and they will try to force the person to take it down but that will cost you money.

That reminds me of a WordPress plugin that disable right click on your blog, disable selection of text on your blog, and disable dragging of images on your blog so that images can't be saved using. This will not make it impossible for people to copy you but will stop people who are super lazy and people that are new to blogging, which happens to be the type of people that copy most of the time.
Ive experienced that several times over the years. Just because its happened a few times, that doesnt mean I am used to it. I still think its pretty pathetic.
I like sending DMCA notices to people who copy my forums content. Everything on my forum is my property (intellectual property), therefore their actions are deemed as illegal. Once something is published, it automatically is the persons property (Owners own the forums, not specific users depending on the T.O.S).
Contact the admin and ask them to take it down. It's happened to me once before with categories, forums, forum descriptions and rules etc but the forum died because no one went on it. Ask them to take it down and if they say no then take it further if it's worth it.
You guys should try: http://www.tynt.com/ for the people who copy and paste stuff straight from your site without reading/editing it, this is great! It adds the URL from where the user copied the text from
I know i should just let it pass away but i just want people to know that it is not me that has copyed. Its the last thing i want is for my forum to get a bad name.
