People who make a 'clone' of your forum?

For one I am happy to see at least you are aware of the mistake and took quick action to change it, and that you took the courage and opened it up here for all.

I hope you learned your lesson. The easy is not always the right way. Next time you take from others it is better to ask as much as you are allowed to, just to be in safe side of things. Not communicating it and assuming no one would mind was one of the bad mistakes.

It is good that you are not being the stubborn jerk kind of person and if it helps anything, I believe in the benefit of doubt.

For some people they first need to make the mistake before seeing they did something totally wrong. As we all got our habits, opinion on what is right or wrong to do.

And you felt it was ok to do what you had in mind. And that is ok, because you were never told or such it was wrong.

Its common for us humans to first have to make the error before knowing from that point it was wrong.

I hope you wont get into a situation like this again.

Best of luck and I hope shady can forgive you and we all can move on. And your rep will be as it was. 😉
 
I am not one to bear a grudge against anybody but you should really think before you do things like this Samar.

I am really glad that you took the time to come here and explain your actions to the rest of the community, But it is not just me that you should be apologizing to as several of our forums members have expressed their concern too and I think in all fairness you should apologize to them.

I hope you have learned your lesson as most people would not be as forgiving when presented with a similar situation.

Good luck to you and your project, In future think first before you replicate somebody's hard work as it could have severe repercussions. 😉
 
Samar, this time you owned up and made changes. I hope that you actually learned from this this time. When you started your promotion forum you copied nearly everything from FP. Board descriptions, guidelines and such, yet you did nothing about it when it was pointed out to you. I really hope this doesn't happen again.

Amazing how people online will stick up for each other in times of copyright/ripped material. People will turn their back on you fast. Just remember that you need to obey online laws as well. Just like real life laws. Keep your online identity in good manner, and people will have your back. Hope this will be last time we see something like this. 😉 Goodluck.

Don't think much about it. Forums that are exact "clones" of another will never succeed.
 
Ugh--this has happened to me more times than I can remember, to varying degrees. It's one reason I made a new theme recently. Glad you got your plagiarist taken care of.

Is there anyway of doing somthing about people who still your forums idea? You work hard get users their just for a clone to come along

Copyright in the hundreds of thousands can, copyright for using identical text will not even make the court case.

If the victim pushes hard enough to sue, they can.
 
You could put a post on their forum to all the members showing that they have copied and pm all the members of that forum.
