Okay, this is litterally pissing me off and pushing me over the edge, and I'm getting sick and tired of it. I'm a member of this one Webmaster forum, and I enjoy being active on it and posting around. However, the administrator is driving me and I don't know how many others insane. Just now I was posting in the off-topic section of that forum, I went to hit the home button, and the whole Board Index was completely disorientated. They keep making updates without informing us, and because of this these guys are in danger of losing an active member for good. Me, of course, and who knows how many others. I am tired of seeing changes and not getting so much as a PM about what's going to happen. I'm not fan of surprises and I hate guessing games. Really, the bottom line is, if you want to make updates to your forum, fine, but at least send out some sort of warning first! [/end rant]
Updates only take a few moments to due most of the time. But if problems occur it can be annoying. But it wouldn't hurt to say something to users about updates.
If it's a small update, then I don't see the reason why the admin will announce it. If they don't know what they're doing and gets the whole forum disordered, then they should put the forums under construction, while editing the forum, etc. You should post your issue at the forum where the admins did this, because posting it here wouldn't resolve anything.
I find it quite funny to see disoriented and confused members. Maybe that's why people took me seriously on April Fools for changing the forum into a Nickelback Fan Forum.
When I'm doing tech work on my board or if we're about to move or do anything that could disrupt service I give a heads up in the help section or if it's extensive, in the main header that there may be temporary down times etc. It's pretty easy to just leave a note.
Well, the administrator thinks it could be a glitch with the home page link, but I managed to solve it on my own for the time being by clicking on the banner rather than the links to the home index, that sort of sorts out the problem for the time being till it is actually resolved.
