So, as a college senior I really need to start getting my personal portfolio website live and full of content. This is one of the things I have always found extremely difficult as I never know how to present myself. I was hoping the FP community could give me some ideas 🙂

I did have a portfolio but it became tedious to maintain with work and so I turned it into a blog. If you just want to show off work then just have a one page website, but if you want to keep active on it with lots of content, split it into sections/pages and add new content regularly.

Pictures are a must with portfolio sites as well.

Present only your best pieces and keep updating it as you create new and better work.

I have kept a portfolio for my graphic design stuff, but always kept it updated. Some pieces that I was particularly happy with, I kept in there forever. It's also not a bad idea to ask a professional in the field to have a look at it and see what they think.

I'm graduating from a software development course this summer, so putting something together for that too. XD. Basically, I'm just putting my stuff on a github, so that I can stick it on my resume.

I will eventually create a proper portfolio site for all my stuff, but I do want to have something right now. It is honestly the hardest thing to do. Even as a designer, I find it difficult to design for myself because I'm over critical of what I do XD.

Just think all of the work and whatnot that you have done over the years. Try and add as much as you can to impress them. Also they will check your spelling and grammar.

Please send me a PM, and I would be more than happy to help you with your ePortfolio! I have an internet startup, citiera.com, where people can make their own online ePortfolios, or personal portfolios.

One of the best pieces of advice I can give is to make it simple. Don't overload your ePortfolio with a bunch of technical stuff (link to it), as HR folk have no clue what any of that stuff does.
