Good morning,
As we continue to follow the discussions taking place in this topic, the Administrators met this weekend and decided to implement a number of initial changes to FP$, as we focus on determining the best direction for Forum Promotion as a whole. Please keep in mind that these changes may not be forever changes, but are actions we are taking in the short term to help mitigate the devaluation of FP$. Here are the changes that have been rolled out these last couple of days:
As always, thank you for your continued support of Forum Promotion. 🙂
- FP$ earnings have been reduced from 4 FP$ per topic and 2 FP$ per post. It is now 2 FP$ per topic, and 1 FP$ per post.
- Previously, all forums were set to earn FP$. We have now excluded a few forums from earning FP$, including Forum Fun, The Hot Seat, all staff forums, and all archive forums, such as Completed/Rejected Packages, for example.
- There was also a 0.1 FP$ character bonus in place, and that has been completely disabled. While we prioritize quality posts across the community, you will not earn more FP$ for posting more words/characters. This feature with this add-on was very easy to manipulate, as you could essentially quote posts to boost your character count.
- Earning FP$ for voting in Site Battles has been disabled. Users were earning 1 FP$ per vote placed in a poll, and we've gone ahead and turned that off entirely. I hope to still see people participating in our Site Battles, as you still earn 1 FP$ for replying to a site battle topic.
- FP$ earned for referring users has been reduced from 100 FP$ to 5 FP$ at this point in time. We will review this again at a later date. We're not entirely sure we will be carrying this add-on over when we upgrade to XenForo 2.3.
- FP$ staff team paychecks have been disabled as well. The goal is to reformat this in some manner so that we still have incentives in place for our staff team, but the way in which we were doing these paychecks isn't feasible.
As always, thank you for your continued support of Forum Promotion. 🙂
