Did you make a backup? As mentioned in another topic, things still go wrong with the auto mod installer.. Especially if you force install it.
If you have a file backup, just simply reupload all the files. If you haven't and if this is the first mod you have installed, upload a clean set of files (except the config.php file!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) from phpBB.com. If you have already installed some mods you will need to go through the install instructions and take out any code the installer added.

Don't use automod, its useless.
Which MOD did you try installing?
I might have an idea what the problem is. Experience a similar kind of thing when installing a MOD at another forum recently.

Before you installed this mod, did you install any mods before it? In other words, if you upload a fresh copy of the phpBB3 files (except for the config.php file!!!!!) will you lose any other mods or files edits from other mods except this messed up mod?
I'm pretty sure if it was a problem with one of the other files it would show up with a parse error or PHP debug.
Kirk, take the language/en/common.php file from the new phpBB download, then upload it to the broken installation. Following that, delete everything from phpBB's "cache" folder except for index.htm and .htaccess .
If it's still broken after that, I'm out of ideas.

They probably won't help as it was caused by a mod. They will probably tell you to just re upload a fresh set of all the files and then clearing the cache. If it messed up one file as much as it did, then it probably caused problems in many files.
If nothing else fixes it, uploading the fresh versions of every file (apart from the config.php file!!!!) will because the problem with the forum is something to do with the forum files being messed up by this mod.
