They've released 3.0.9 :cheer: So you can go update. Doesn't seem to be much with 3.0.9 though.
 
Finially! After 4 RCs it's fining out! I will have a look at it later.
 
What new features does this update bring and what bug's have been fixed?

I'm a little behind with my phpBB knowledge, I have not used it in a while 🙂

Oh finally! I thought I'd be in my grave by the time of the release. I wonder if FP will update..

I think with the release of 3.0.9 all they had was tons of bug fixes.
 
So would it be worth updating at this time since all it was was minor fixes? Doesn't sound like much to get excited about if you ask me.
 
Yea its not even much. Nothing major at all. I think 3.1 is where all the majors happen. But, only one bad thing about not updating is that they won't offer support even though I never use their support.

I haven't been on the phpBB support forum for quite some time, but even when I was there, I never really had to use their support either.
 
Yea..I just used it once for a major problem on my forum. We actually was very close to starting over if I didn't go to them. Anyways back on topic!
 
I see a few people are keeping their 3.0.8 going. Anyone here in this thread doing it this way?
 
Yea kssite, good luck with the upgrade! If I were you I wouldn't upgrade as yet. I'd wait until the next major release (3.1).
 
I went ahead and updated and so far no problems. I have about 27 mods installed. I started with phpBB 3.0.7-pl1 when I moved to the phpBB software so I don't think there's much difference between 3.0.7-pl1, 3.0.8, and 3.0.9 so updating don't seems to affect my board. I was able to update to phpBB 3.0.8 last year with no issues and this morning from phpBB 3.0.8 to phpBB 3.0.9! 😀

I have to say, this one made me nervous because it found 2 conflicts which I let the updater resolves and I was scared that I might not have chosen the correct one thus breaking my board. But like I said earlier, nothing seems to be broken but I made an announcement of the update and my members are now aware of it and will document any issues if they occurs.
 
I am actually relieved because my tech administrator has decided to hold off on updating just yet. I mean, why bother to update when it's only minor bug issues? I really want to wait for 3.1.x and update then, as that's obviously the major release, so I'm going to see if I can convince him to wait till then, since obviously 3.0.9 isn't anything to get excited about.
 
Why would you not upgrade to the latest release? There could be security updates in the new release.

If I was on phpbb my forum would have been updated the second I found out about it.
