PHPBB AutoMod 1.0 Beta 1 Released

The MOD Team is proud to announce the first public beta release of AutoMOD, the successor of phpBB2's EasyMOD. AutoMOD will install modifications for you. It can use FTP or direct file access to write the changes or package the new files as a zip.

More information and downloads can be found on the AutoMOD page. If you have any problems, ask in the AutoMOD forum. If you find a bug, post it in the AutoMOD bug tracker.

Please note that this is a beta release, and not to be used in a live environment. We will not be held responsible for any damage caused.

I haven't tried this mod but i have tried the easymod for phpBB2 and to be honest most times it turns out to be easier to install it manually.

I found easyMod Great for phpbb2 , hope this is much better 🙂, this will definitely popularize this great forum software a lot of people depend on simple mod installations so this will definitely make a huge impact.

It's been out for ages, I still do manual installations.

It hasn't been 'out' but the SVN repository has been public for some time. I tested it a few months back and even then it worked pretty good. It is much better and quite improved from EasyMOD.

I still suggest installing manually if you can as AutoMOD can destroy your board if something goes wrong, but of course it's always there for people that are too lazy to read instructions ~lol~

Or for installing larger MODs. Is the phpBB SEO MOD working with this as well? Probably not, but if they can edit it to work, itd save me alot of time, heck everyone would be using it.

AutoMOD 1.0.0 Beta 2

After a month, the second beta for AutoMOD is ready. We would like to thank everybody who tested beta 1. We have fixed a large amount of bugs and implemented support for MODX 1.2.2. A full changelog can be found here.

MODX 1.2.2

We are releasing MODX 1.2.2 at the same time. This is only a maintenance release. The changes consist of adding a missing link type and a fix for the contributions. For instructions on how to update, please refer to the MODX update page. All modifications submitted to the MODDB must from now on use MODX 1.2.2. We have updated the sample file and the spec page.

We give credit to poyntesm for pointing out the issue with links to files with localised imagesets and nickvergessen who provided a patch for the contributions.
