phpBB Coding & Mods

Thank you darthmaul 🙂 - Unfortunately, I am not aware of any free forums which allow you to install your own mods, however, I'll post on my forum and see if any of them have an idea.

*Also, this site isn't just for people with their own hosting - We can help any forum owner significantly improve their site visually and contextually. We'd love to have you! Good luck 🙂

Can't wait 🙂 - So we've almost reached our '1 Month In Business' mark. Who else wants to be a part of this? It's pretty hard to find other phpbb-help sites with an active staff who's willing to work 1-on-1 with you.

Very good site, and offers a range of services! Check the site out, even if you don't need help, you can always share your experience! Nexus is fantastic at simplifying seemingly complicated tutorials and anxieties.

I wanted to create a community where anyone could learn how to run and maintain an open-source php based online community. I was introduced to phpBB forums in the fall of 2002 where I used a fairly crappy free forum host with almost no advanced features...a year or so later, I discovered jconverv.net which gave me a full range of options, mods, plugins, templates to choose from, the works! My only problem: I didn't know how it worked, or how to improve the forum so it would stand out among the other hundreds and thousands of forums on the web.

Of course there was a Support Forum - which was mainly to get word of your site out to the jconverv community, and the technical support which slowly dwindled over the following few years - but there wasn't any single place I could go to learn more! I wanted to know how to code modifications, how to pull data from the database, create a style, and...the BIG question, "How do I get more members and more posts?"

The criteria of a 'successful forum' vary depending on the Admin. Each person has a goal he or she wants to reach with their forum. Some people want to get as many members and posts as they can, some want to have a small community where friendships are made, and some just want the experience of using a phpBB forum. phpDissection will point people in the right direction...these days, it's easy to get thousands and thousands of posts by using Today's Post-Exchange features on most free-advertising forums... Our goal is to give you feedback on our experiences to help you grow a thriving, content-driven forum.

phpDissection will provide all the tools you need, whether it's Coding assistance, Advertising Tips, or simply explanations as to why something is the way it is. Give us a chance and you may be surprised!

So, I'm not sure why krazyforkirby gave me -1 Rep point for my last post.

But...We're doing very well! ONE more day until we reach our 1 Month Mark. We've gotten 608 different IP visitors, 22,000 pageviews, 33 members and 1341 posts. Our tutorials are doing very well, and we're helping Forum Admin with all sorts of issues.

We have a couple Modifications in development, and of course opened our 'Let Us Install Your Mods' section. Come check us out!
