phpBB Communities: Resource, Advertising & More....

Re: phpBB Communities

Friday update, we have been open 3 weeks today and have already made 20,000 posts, our Knowledge Base is growing all the time and with over 100 members, the future is very bright for this new site.

Re: phpBB Communities

Well another day has past over at phpBB Communities, we have a new blog post, which is an interview with phpBB.com staff member Maël Soucaze, who is part of the styles team but mainly he is the IST/Translation manager.

We also are giving anyone who advertises their phpBB forum a free advertisment/affiliate or cloud tag service as a thank you.

Re: phpBB Communities

Do not adjust you monitors, it is not broken. We have in fact gone gray, this is our new default look and the style is called proskygray, Green Cow has been a major help with the image changes, new imageset and also our fab new rank set.

I know from feedback from staff and donators who have had access to the new style early that some users will love it and some will hate it but we felt we needed a change for the following reasons; while we stayed blue we will always get comparisons to TH (my pervious site) due to the style being all most the same and also due to blueSilver being used again which has the same colours system. Donators, Contributors and Staff will be able to swap styles as we will be keeping proskyblue as our alternative style.

The style has also been built using template inheritance to make my life easier when updating etc. A big thanks again to Green CoW for the image changes as new ranks (you will be able to view how much work he did in the concept album), also to the staff for point out any minor issues I had missed

Re: phpBB Communities

Another eventful day over at phpBB Communities today with many nominations for forum, KB article and graphics of the month being submitted, we would like to see more submissions ASAP though. Also, we had a great day statistic wise yesterday (1st of March) as we almost made 1000 posts in that day alone. If you're not already a member, come over and join us now!

Re: phpBB Communities

Things have been going well at phpBB Communites over the past few days! We would like to welcome Death180 and BaXTeR to our staff team , also we recently reached 25k posts which we are all very proud about, we would like to thank everyone who has signed up and supported us so far and can only hope that more will do so too!

Re: phpBB Communities

Yesterday saw another busy day with other a 1000 posts made in the day, we have some amazing features coming soon, so if you want to know what the buzz is about come check us out. We should hit 30k posts in only 5 weeks.

Re: phpBB Communities

I would recommend this place although the service prices and requirements are ridiculously high and the staff can be a little rude as well, is any of this subject to change Rich?

I don't think the prices are high and haven't seen any staff being rude. It's a really good friendly site in my opinion.

I have to agree with this.

Re: phpBB Communities

Well I'm shocked both are you are members and yet neither of you thought about droping me a pm with you issue with regarding any rudeness, it is something we would not what members to feel and apologise now if you have an issue feel free to drop me a pm at anytime to discuss your concerns.

As for the services what requirements are ridiculously high and again if people have a concern we would discuss it and if it feel it is in the best interest to change we will do so we have made numerous changes to our services as we listened to what our active members wanted, as for the prices no one besides Dan has mentioned it being too high till now and all services are pretty active for a site that is only 5 weeks old. If you have suggestions for price changes and you think it would benefit the site you are welcome to post it in the community feedback forum or pm me.

Thanks for bringing the issues up and hope you both (zaborg and Dan) take the time to contact me with your concerns, ideas and suggestions.

I have to agree with this.

What's rude is the fact that you two have to bring this to this topic in an attempt to tarnish this forum's reputation.

Now, I must personally say, I do recommend phpBB Communities. It is a nice, active forum. 😉

Re: phpBB Communities

Thanks for the thumbs up CMt and thanks to dan for pming with his feedback and ideas. Also we have added a feedback topic for members to air any ideas, issues and moans.

Also today we passed 30,000 posts in just over 4 weeks and today we have had 1,500+ posts alone.

Like Cmt said, what is rude it that you did this in public, rather than in private to Rich or Sarah. You were staff previously and why you didn't mention it then I don't know.

I'm not sticking up for the staff, as I'm a staff member myself, but that's the first time I've heard any comments like that with regards to phpBB Communities.

I feel this point will be justified when you show me a topic you've made here on FP complaining about the prices of FP's services. Let's take the Alpha package for example here on FP. It costs 50FP, and you get 3 topics and 5 posts. On PC the Basic Package is the equivilant to the Alpha Package. The Basic package costs 50PC but you get 4 topics, and 8 posts. Looks like PC is really unfair with their prices eh?

Look at the text ad service here on FP. 100FP cash gets you a small ad at the very bottom of the index where users eyes do not typically visit. PC offers an advertising banner for only 200PC right at the very top of the index page. So even if someone didn't want to see your banner, they really wouldn't have a choice because it is in PRIME real estate. Not to mention with all ad services you have the option to lock your position for more than a week, where FP only allows you a spot for a week.

Not to mention PC cash is just as easily obtained as FP cash. As far as rude staff goes I haven't seen any issues their either. I am part of the staff but have only been part of the team for a few days. I have experienced what they are like as a regular member and have had no issues whatsoever. When users make suggestions the staff thanks them kindly for them, even if they do not plan to implement the suggestion. If you break a rule you are spoken to like you would be on any other forum. It's not like we're going around banning everyone, or giving official warnings to every user who posts a topic in the wrong section. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

This isn't me saying that PC is better than FP. I'm only making the point that in my opinion you shouldn't say we are overpriced and that are requirements are too high when they aren't.

Graphics Service Feedback
Package Service Feedback

As you can see from our feedback threads our users do not have a problem with our services, pricing, or requirements.
