Okay, I was considering switching to some other forum software but then realized that it may just be something I am doing wrong.

If you go to my community forum, you see that it is completely custom.

Could that be why I don't see any of the mods working? For example I have an advertisement manager that installed successfully but I don't see it anywhere on my site. It is supposed to be after the first post.

Is there something I am doing wrong? Should I be putting this theme as the default in AutoMOD or something? Any advice would really help.

Thanks in advance.

Is the theme prosilver based? Do you have some kind of adblocker active?

No, I took off ABP so that I can see the ads on my site.

Yes our theme is ProSilver based.

Thanks for the reply.

I would just install the theme edits manually if I were you. Depending on how customised your theme is AutoMod may not be able to install for you.

This might sound ridiculously stupid but what required template edits?

I haven't seen any guide talking about that.

There should have been a file when you downloaded it called "install.xml" or something similar. Open that up with your favorite browser and it has instructions for template edits 🙂

Oh my gosh, Ill look into this. Thank you very much this may have been the problem all along.

And the reason for this topic was that I saw that this site is running on phpBB just fine.

Does anyone know if this site uses Ultimate Points Shoppe? If not what is it? I've been trying to find an alternative.<br /><br />-- 15 Oct 2012, 14:09 --<br /><br />Yeah I'm afraid I don't see an install.xml anywhere.

Could you tell me what I need to edit?

Yeah I'm afraid I don't see an install.xml anywhere.

Could you tell me what I need to edit?

What you need to do is unzip the MOD file you downloaded, then open the unzipped folder, in there you will see a file called install.xml, if you are using firefox you can right click on it, then from the menu that pops up choose open with.... firefox, this will open a new tab in your browser.

Go into that tab and you will see the install.xml file in a readable format, scroll down and you will see a list of files that you need to edit, all these edits will have been done for the prosilver theme by Automod.

look down the list to the ones that read .........prosilver/template/...... and prosilver/theme/..........

Click on them one at a time this tells how and where to do the edits in your custom theme in order for the MODs to work properly.

If there are images you will have to upload those to the theme and template files as well.

If you need any further help PM me

Alright thank you so much, Ill go check it out right now.

Will it be easier to have .....prosilver/template/...... change to .........'mytemplate'/teplate/............ ?

Nope because that will that will mean that you will have to change about 5000 lines of code !

Just do the edits to the files as is, don't change ANY file names

What I do when using automod is to open the install.xml and COPY all of the edits for the prosilver theme and then paste them into the file and rename those that I just pasted to my new theme. So there should be edits for both prosilver and your new theme in the file now.

Then you will go to the styles folder and also copy the prosilver folder and rename it to the new theme.

Then upload all of that to the Automod folder. Due to the nature of custom themes Automod won't always work 100% however it will tell you the edits it couldn't make so that you can do them manually. The end result though for me at least is a lot of saved time.

I can see your mods.. I don't see what your issue is? I also don't see how your forum is 'completely custom'?

Sorry "completely custom' was a poor choice of words. What I meant was that the theme was 'completely custom'.

And the issue is resolved now. I didn't realize that I had to edit them completely when when they are custom themes.

Thanks, everyone for all your help.
