phpBB styles & themes

I followed a link from this site to http://www.awesomestyles.com and now I'm confused. Sorry if this is such a basic and dumb question, but what's the difference between a style and a theme?

A style and a theme are the exact same thing. The design of a forum has a different name per software, phpBB calls the design a 'style' and MyBB calls it a 'theme'. They are the same things but different names per software. However you can't use 'styles' of MyBB and 'themes' on phpBB etc.

Styles, skins, themes - all the same. The site is only using the different terms to appeal to more online searches, e.g. someone searches for skins, someone searches for themes. You can imagine.
