phpbb vs. Mybb vs. SMF

so I use mybb and I like it, I know a lot of forums use phpbb and looking at other posts about this SMF and Mybb appear to 50/50
I just wanted to know which forum is the best so I can change to it before it gets bigger so the transition is smoother and easier, I would like for you to tell me which one to use and not just have a comparison feature wise, (I just want someone to just tell me use this)

I love SMF, especially over phpbb.

Jut now trying mybb so I'll tell you for sure later.

Try them out. Nobody knows but you.
But both SMF and MyBB are lacking in the good themes (at least from what I see). Though there are good ones out there.

"the best" is only a matter of opinion. Each popular software has thousands and thousands of dedicated followers who will instantly join up on a board simply because of what software its using.
Then there is people who dont really care what software a board is using and look more for the quality of the content on the board and how the people are.

Exactly. It really comes down to your own preference, some people find it easier to work with phpBB, some MyBB, some SMF, some IPB, some vB, some xenForo etc. I myself find phpBB and IPB to be my 2 favourite preferences, however that does not mean you will do the same, I actually like most forum software apart from SMF, I really, really dislike SMF 😛
