phpBB World
Quick Review by AndroidOS

Analysis:

mostliked.webp Strengths:
  1. Theme
Your theme is awesome. It is obviously custom, and this I always like due to the fact I haven't seen it anywhere else before (if I see an old theme I usually tend to think of the original site I saw it on, not the site I am actually on). Also, the actual design is extremely good; it is very modern and easy to navigate. The unique member profile is also very neat - here I love the use of the tabs to display certain information, it makes the page look a lot less cluttered. The one thing I would say about this page is that there is a bit of unused space that could be removed. Other than that I only have two other little problems. One is that I find your logo is a bit too small, and the fact that the breadcrumb links are at the very top of the page - I expect them to be just underneath the header and this has caused me to clink on the wrong link every now and again.
  2. The customisation database
Now, with this I do realise this part of the site is powered by phpBB's Titania, however this I like. I cannot recall a site other than phpbb.com actually using this, and so I find it rather unique, for the software is much better than any other MOD you can use to do the same job. I think that, if you added some more resources to the database, this part of the site would kick off and you would see other users posting their creations as well, which would definitely draw me to the forum. Do be careful though, as I don't want to see a lot of poorly designed MODs or styles, especially if one had a security vulnerability. I don't know whether you do this or not, but maybe consider approving submissions before the go live to prevent issues like this.
disliked.webp Weaknesses:
  1. Activity
Now, for a month old forum, your stats are alright, but it is the forums they are being made in I have a problem with. Currently the most active sections are the off topic ones. This I believe may be due to two or three factors, one of which is going to be my next point below. First however, I believe your posting contest may be partly to blame for it. Your prizes for the posting contest are great, however this causes members to create as many posts as they can, and the easiest way to do this is normally via the off topic sections. Maybe next time you run a similar contest add a rule where all posts have to be made in the phpBB and Webmaster sections to try and promote this. Secondly, I actually feel as though you don't have many forums for phpBB chat. You have sections where your MODs and Styles are posted, but nowhere to actually comment on the process behind making them, or to discuss phpBB in general. I would personally suggest removing/merging one of the off topic sections to create room for this forum, as when going to a phpBB forum that is what I want to discuss, not, say, sport, for example.
  2. Forum Layout
Finally, I believe your forum layout could be improved. The Front Desk and phpBB categories I would keep in the same place, but i would then swap the General Discussion and Webmaster ones around. I say this because, typically, I will post in the topics I find first, and these will be the ones I get to the quickest. Currently I have to scroll all the way down to the bottom to find webmaster discussions, and sometimes if I am in a hurry I might not even get down to that part. This was my third reason I think you may be receiving more posts in the off topic sections. The only other suggestion I have regarding this is to possibly move the Introductions forum to the Front Desk Category.

Final Remarks:
I think your forum has potential to become a large phpBB resources sharing/discussion site, but first you just need to work on a few things. Try to get activity up, and maybe add a couple more good, quality MODs and styles to your database and I think you're ready to go!
