I am diving into phpbb3 and trying to learn how to create a forum with them but their site is BIG and rather confusing.


IS there like a guide for NOOBS who are trying to learn how to create the forum? And how long does it take to actually create a phpbb3 forum

It only takes a couple of minutes to install phpBB. Most webhosts offer an automatic script installer so that can make installing phpBB even easier and quicker.

You will need a webhost. It can be paid or free. phpBB.com will not host your site like a free forum host. The following link will help with installing phpBB - http://www.phpbb.com/support/documentat ... lation.php

If the host you choose has an automated script installer, you can use that and ignore the above guide. Usually that is just as simple as entering a few bits of information.

There will probably be users here willing to install any forum software for you if you do get stuck.

YOu can install any forum script in a couple of minutes. But modding phpbb3 will takes some time as it has many edits to go.

Feel free to ask me regarding doubts in phpbb3.

If you cant candle all the edits on your own, i would suggest you to go to mybb and have a look yourself to check whether it suits your need.

i just dont know what i have to do now.

I literally have no experience with this.
