Hey FP!

I am in the process of opening my general chat community. We run on phpBB3 and are in need of a skin/theme/template. (If someone knows the proper word let me know. 😛 ) I have chosen to install a skin/theme/template called Absolution. I'm sure some of you have heard of it.

http://demo.phpbb3styles.net/Absolution

Can someone please give me step-by-step instructions about how I can get this on my forum? I haven't used phpBB3 before now and I'm still learning so you are going to have to try and be as specific as possible. +rep and 100 FP$ goes to the first user to help me install Absolution.

Thank you! :cheer:

I make custom styles just so you know 😉 Check my signature. Anyway to get Absolution on your forum, go and login to your FTP account. Navigate to your forums files and folders, go to the following location...

"/styles/" And transfer over the Absolution package into the directory (inside the styles folder). Make sure it is not in any sub-folders or anything. You need to make sure that you have uploaded it right, if you have the styles directory should look like this...

> Styles
> > Absolution
> > > Imagesets
> > > > en
> > > Templates
> > > Themes
> > > > images

Hope that help you out :great:

Thanks for the instructions, mate. I want to install some skins myself, and hopefully I can get this right. Thanks for the tips.

If you start editing the template of the Style, you will have to make sure to "Purge the Cache" after you've uploaded the new file. Otherwise you will not see the change.

Purge the Cache can be found in your General tab's main page.

1) Its called a style. The theme is a part of the style, so don't get them mixed up.

2) Download Filezilla
Enter your FTP details
Find the unzipped theme on your computer
Upload the file into the /phpBBrootdirectory/styles
Then go into styles in the ACP, then click on Install next to the them called absolution.

3) Absolution is overused so I would not really recommended it.
