Mine is blank but when I put in root it still has the error.

You cannot change it in the config, it will not match the actual mysql password. If it was blank then the password for mysql is blank. That is the default for a wamp install.

Somehow your mysql and phpmyadmin got out of sync in the install. You may have to change the mysql password and then make the config.inc.php match it.

Do you have some sort of messenger? I can try to walk you through it.

Fixed the issue by reinstalling.
