Pinging URLs ?

When pinging URLs using a pinging software, in my case ... "Mass URL Pinger"..
What URLs do i ping?

Is it the URLs of the pages which i have backlinks on?
So im indexing other peoples webpages because in doing so, it means those links of mine will get picked up quicker?

Am i correct?

Basically you do it on urls that have your site linked on it.

Well, it would probably depend if the target page is setup is a way in which it's able to detect the pings.

Yes you would ping this page (or any page that contained your link), it lets web services know that content has been updated. Thus letting them know that your backlink is there.
