Personal rule: I don't join any forum if the contents of most forums within are private. There's no indication of meaningful activity or way to check the supposed fun conversations being had. I'm sure there are others who follow a similar rule. You may want to think about this moving forward to determine the pros and cons of hiding conversations from guests. Just a thought.
