Placing banners on your forum index.

I would love to learn how to place a banner promotion at the top of my forum as well. What is the code and the instructions on how to place the banners on your forum index? Thanks.

It is added to the top of the index_body template.

How do you get the index body template. I only know how to get the portal from the administrative panel. How do I get the index? I'm not a noob so I just need an answer and I'll understand it.

You need access to your forum's server.

I see you're with freeforums.org, so you wont have access at the moment.

I'd like the code that I see on others saying that you are not registered and to click here to do so.

Of course this only comes up if not logged in. It's a yellow bar at the top of the page as I can recall.

There are mods for this and i know that for phpBB3 there is one that displays a different message depending on if it is a guest or member and the time of day so it will say good morning in te morning and afternoon in the afternoon and so on...

I don't know what there is for SMF though.
